What?
What does the future of feminist art look like in the age of AI?
Artists and activists who identify as women, non-binary, trans, queer, Black, Indigenous, or people of color only make up a fraction of contributors and content subjects in Wikipedia. Join us to learn how you can take action to address this imbalance by creating or updating Wikipedia entries!
The event will kick off with a Long Table discussion focused on disrupting patriarchy and empowering women and queer artists in online spaces. The discussion will feature U of M faculty and local artists, but anyone in the community is welcome to join the discussion.
The discussion will be followed by a Wikipedia Edit-a-thon, where you can help make improvements to Wikipedia directly. We will provide tutorials for the beginner Wikipedian, reference materials, and refreshments.
This event is in partnership with Ann Arbor District Library, the U-M Library, LSA Technology Services, and the Stamps Gallery. The panel Discussion will be from 1–2:30pm and the Wikipedia Edit-a-thon will be from 2:45–5:00pm. Both will be held on the main floor of the downtown AADL Library.”
